Financially secure, life-long learner who is kindhearted with a quirky sense of humor - looking for someone of wit and basic friendliness. I am told that I am a large presence and am a good conversationalist - after all if we can't talk with one another what are we doing here? I can see the humor in most anything and seldom hesitate to point it out.

I admire people who have led lives dedicated to values higher than personal gain and in my own career have tried to make a difference in the lives of others.

I don't have a preconception of the "perfect woman" and don't believe there is such a person. I'd like to go on record here as being slightly less than perfect myself. I want chemistry in both directions - part of the risk of this dating thing - but in general am seeking an attractive and intelligent woman with clear values, curiosity, good physical and spiritual health and who gets my humor - and I hers.

I work out at a gym to keep fit and pursue golf, skiing and fly fishing avidly. I don't need someone to do these with me but I do want someone who is reasonably conscientious about personal fitness and health and who is physically active.

Also I enjoy cooking, gardening and woodworking.

I would hope to find someone who might expand my interests into unexplored areas.

I am respectful of others' sincerely held beliefs - political and religious.

I do wonder about people who post on Match that they "are contented being alone" - just would like a relationship for " icing on the cake". That is not the case with me. I want and need to be in a good relationship. I believe we were meant to be with someone we love.

I have seen some of the world and hope to see it all before the eternal transition, but most of life is in the small stuff I believe, and I hope to be able to share the small stuff with someone who wants to share the small stuff with me.
